New officers installed at 2008 A.G.M.

Tom Anderson was voted in as the new Commodore for the  2008 sailing Season after a very successful year as Vice Commodore and Race officer. Tom was also the recipient  of the most improved sailor award for the 2007 season sailing his Albacore (Got Wind), good luck Tom on the upcoming season

Bruce Koch was voted in as the new Vice Commodore for the  2008 sailing Season. Bruce Sails a Flying Scott (Irie, which is Rastafarian for  positive emotions or feelings ) Bruce has only been in the sailing club for a short time but is an experienced sailor and has proved himself a formidable opponent  though out last years racing series. Good luck Bruce on the upcoming season

The Husband & Wife Team of Doug and Dawn Weber were voted in as the new Club Secretary for the  2008 sailing Season. Doug and Dawn only joined the sailing club last year after completing the sailing lessons and with their packed cooler and enthusiasm have become a wonderful and much loved addition to our sailing family

Dawn sails a single handed phantom and was the recipient of the much sort after big dipper award for 2007. Doug sails a Hobie 16 and we all wish him luck in keeping it the right way up in 2008

Adina Silvestri  was voted in as the new Treasurer for the  2008 sailing Season, another graduate of the 2007 sailing class, she has been crewing on a Hobie 16 and a welcome member to our sailing family, Good luck Adina on the upcoming season

Colin Fradd has been appointed as the Membership secretary for 2008, Colin has just stepped down from being commodore for 2007 and has enjoyed a successful racing season in 2007 sailing his Hobie 16

Congratulations Ewan. After seeing the light he has been seduced to the dark side and purchased a Hobie 14. Ewan can be regularly seen at sailing club racing events in his single handed Melton, we have all sailed  past at some point and admired the wonderful finish on the bottom of his hull. Ewan's sailing skills last year have improved tremendously from a novice at the beginning of the year to a competitive racer by the end of the year. I'm sure Ewan will be equally successful as a multi hull sailor, good luck Ewan in the upcoming season.

The Melton that Ewan sailed has been bought by Scott Richards, another new member who joined last year, Good luck Scott in the upcoming season.

If you are a sailor, we feature club races throughout the summer, along with fun sails. If you do not know how to sail, but would like to learn, we offer free sailing lessons to members. You need not own a boat to join; you are more than welcome to crew with one of our skippers, or assist in running the races, or just join in on the social events throughout the year.

Social events include several picnics held through out the year either at Sundays Pavilion in Brandermill or at one of the club members home. The club also sponsors a Christmas Party, a fun event popular with virtually all of the members. Because the club is relatively small (usually less than 50 family memberships), new members find it easy to get to know all of the members; and because of the low membership fee, the club provides an opportunity to learn about sailing without a large outlay of cash.
